    I. THE ROLE

    Are you excited by the opportunity to produce digital content that will influence a network of more than 180K people living in Dallas? The Content Specialist will curate content across several platforms, manage our website, research trending topics and develop strategies for growth and engagement. The ideal candidate has strong writing and photography skills, attention to detail, technical experience and an outstanding eye for design. The position is a critical one— the Content Specialist will report to co-CEO, Lily Kramlich Taylor during a significant growth phase of the company and require someone who is wired for creation and entrepreneurialism. 

    HIGHLIGHTS 

    • Create and manage content while assisting in growing one of the largest lifestyle Instagram accounts in Dallas as it evolves into a hyper-local media company.
    • Be trusted with great responsibility and independence to play a critical role for a rapidly growing start-up.

    II. RESPONSIBILITIES

    CONTENT CREATION (65%)

    • Create and employ new content strategies, including SEO and platform revenue growth.
    • Research trending industry topics, local news and events and the competitive landscape.
    • Responsible for photography and videography. 
    • Develop, write, edit and share content for Dallasites101's platforms, such as website, social media and newsletter.
    • Develop, write, edit and share content for select clients of Dallasites101.
    • Maintain content calendars. 
    • Coordinate with freelance writers. 
    • Create graphics for events and marketing. 
    • Internalize and follow brand guidelines.

    ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT (20%)

    • Report analytics externally to clients, as well as internally to team to inform and improve platforms.
    • Manage a content budget.
    • Steward new and existing clients.
    • Create case studies to capture successful partnerships.

    SPECIAL PROJECTS AND DUTIES (15%)

    • Identify new opportunities for business and growth through research, knowledge and expertise.
    • Participate in Dallasites101 events and media invitations; for example, wine walks, media meals, and networking opportunities.

    III. QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Required 4-year college degree.
      • Preferred areas of study include business, communications, marketing or design
    • Minimum 2+ years of professional experience (including internships/part-time roles).
    • Expertise in social media, Squarespace, MailChimp and Canva, with an innate technical ability.
      • SEO, HTML and coding skills are a plus!

    IV. SKILLS  

    • A strong desire, good personality, and great fit for working in a high-accountability, high-autonomy setting.
    • Entrepreneurial - comfortable with ambiguity; driven to succeed; and a self-starter.
    • Always comes prepared with a well-developed point of view, initial work product, and recommendation for way forward when seeking support.
    • Proven track record of setting and meeting a high bar for excellence. 
    • Meticulous attention to detail and expert eye for design.

    • An upbeat, positive individual who is outgoing and loves to explore and interact with the community.
    • A good sense of suggestion.
    • The ability to stand for several hours and lift 20+ pounds.

    V. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

    • Competitive entry-level salary in accordance to the local industry.
    • Eligible for new business and client commission after 90 days full-time (assuming outstanding performance).
    • Time-off includes 10 days of paid time off and 5 days of sick time. 
    • Option to work remote 2 days per month. 
    • Monthly stipend for parking, research, professional development and select discretionary expenses.
