Job Summary: The Rentals Department Head oversees equipment rental, repair shop, and Stihl sales operations.
Responsibilities:
Provide excellent customer service with rentals, repairs, and Stihl products. Educate customers on safe use of all rental equipment.
Supervise rentals department employees, including training, assigning tasks, holding employees accountable for department protocols and procedures, and collaborating on interviewing, hiring, and reviewing rentals employees.
Immediately respond to and resolve customer complaints.
Order, receive and stock Stihl products. Maintain inventory of Stihl and other department products including cycle counting.
Coordinate sales promotions, marketing, and special events.
Merchandise and maintain department in a manner that fosters growth of the department.
Organize and maintain repair shop and backstock of inventory.
Be a role model for safety, creating a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with all store policies and safety standards.
Respond to emails and phone communication in a timely and professional manner.
Keep accurate records of all rental equipment including repair logs, manuals, registration, etc.
Ensure that all equipment is well-maintained, registered, and inspected as appropriate.
Respond to emergency rental phone calls during off hours on a rotating basis.

Ability to supervise other employees and understand the fundamentals of leadership.
Strong knowledge of rentals equipment, small engine repair, and Stihl products.
Motivated, organized, self-starter who is able to think independently and solve problems with a positive attitude.
Knowledge of effective sales methods and techniques.
Strong computer skills including ability to become highly proficient with filling and placing online orders, and using email, inventory management, rentals reservations, point-of-sale and project management software.
Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
Understanding and ability to operate equipment such as track loader, excavator, etc.
Clean driver’s license and ability to drive trailered equipment.
