Dan is a licensed Master Plumber, and is a State of Michigan licensed contractor for Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning, Electrical, and Boiler Service and installation.     CURRENT OPPORTUNITY:  ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT 

    This position will perform a wide variety of clerical duties, including data entry in support of our technicians in the field to generate billable invoices.  It is an integral part of our billing department and cross functions with our accounting department.  You must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment in order to meet performance and quality assurance benchmarks while delivering exceptional customer service as needed.

    ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Process field staff time cards
    • Data entry
    • Reviews all work orders and records details of service performed
    • Prepare AR invoices
    • Proficient in running desk calculator and computer as well as any other office machines
    • AR collections
    • Bank deposit preparation
    • Cash receipt postings
    • Enter financing applications 
    • Time card entry into payroll
    • Technician support for invoicing, time cards, and collections
    • Perform other duties as assigned 
    • Being a self starter

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
    • Must be able to type over 50 words per minute
    • Must be able to follow SOP's
    • Must maintain confidentiality at all times
    • Knowledge and practical experience beyond basic bookkeeping
    • Knowledge and practical experience regarding basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel programs
    • Ability to maintain bookkeeping records on computer
    • Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with established policies and regulations
    • Familiar with networks and data backup procedures
    • Ability to handle a multiple-lined phone system for a number of staff members
    • Highly organized with exceptional follow-through abilities.
    • Strong verbal and written communications.
    • Ability to build trust and demonstrate empathy.
    • Able to handle the urgency of each task, and work in a high-stress position
    • Is accurate & detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task
    • Good health, high moral character and good attendance record
    • Polite, courteous and tactful with the public
    • Good grammar skills are required
    • Ability to be a SELF STARTER.  Someone who begins work or undertakes a project on his or her own initiative, without needing to be told or encouraged to do so.
