BBA Afterschool Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and dependable After-School Cheer Instructor to lead engaging cheer activities for elementary-aged students in Haymarket, VA.

This is a great opportunity for cheerleaders, cheer coaches, dancers, gymnasts, teachers, youth instructors, or anyone passionate about cheer and working with children.

Position Details

• Schedule: Fridays, 4:10 PM–5:10 PM (there are other schedules)

• Session Length: 1 hour program + 30 min paid early arrival

• Pay: $45 per session ($30 per hour)

• Part-time, after-school position

• No weekends beyond the scheduled Friday program

• No lesson planning required

• Curriculum and activity guidance provided

• In-person position in Haymarket, VA

Program Focus

Instructors will teach students the basic fundamentals of cheerleading through fun, age-appropriate activities, including:

• Basic cheer motions and movements

• Beginner cheers and chants

• Rhythm, coordination, and timing

• Introductory jumps and footwork appropriate for students’ abilities

• Teamwork and group routines

• Confidence, sportsmanship, and positive encouragement

All activities should be age-appropriate and conducted safely. Stunts, lifts, and other higher-risk skills should not be included unless specifically authorized and properly supervised.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging cheer sessions for elementary-aged students

• Teach basic cheer fundamentals and beginner routines

• Demonstrate movements and encourage participation

• Promote teamwork, confidence, coordination, and sportsmanship

• Follow BBA’s curriculum and program guidelines

• Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment

• Communicate professionally with school staff and BBA leadership

• Anyone energetic, dependable, and interested in teaching children

Qualifications

• Cheer, dance, gymnastics, or related experience preferred

• Experience working with children is a plus

• Comfortable leading elementary-aged students

• Patient, positive, and dependable

• Reliable transportation to the program location

• Must successfully complete the required background check process
