We are seeking a summer live-in nanny (min 12 weeks) for our 7- and 10-year old daughters in the Washington DC area. We've sourced 6 nannies from various BYU schools previously (BYU Provo, BYU-I, BYU-H), and can put you in touch with them. All of our previous nannies have gone on to graduate from their respective schools. We are open to extending proven candidates who want to take on-line courses during the fall semester. You must be great with kids, have experience caring for kids (the more the better and ideally of similar ages), have a clean driving record, be organized, be proactive, have excellent communication skills, and be full of energy. Seeking an individual for at least a 12 week term, opportunity for extension exists. The ideal candidate will also be independent, socially gregarious and embrace new places, new things, and new people. These are individuals who embrace the diversity of a cosmopolitan community, who join bands and music groups, who join random sports leagues simply to meet other people, who access museums and arts of a large metropolitan area, who want to celebrate 4th of July with millions of others on the National Mall or perhaps in Independence Hall where it all began, who are unafraid explorers on weekend sightseeing trips to NYC, Philadelphia, Richmond, Williamsburg. While we've seen many different personality types as nannies, the happiest and most successful for us are individuals who are adept in creating their own community of friends and interests, who get out of the house and explore in their time off on nights and weekends. Coincidentally, these are individuals that also get super-engaged with their church (singles-ward) as an instant community and avail themselves of institute, FHE and singles activities. While none of these things are requirements, every person who has enjoyed this opportunity and would do it again has fit this profile. We want you to be successful in the job but equally important is that you have a rewarding experience--this can't be accomplished if you're siting in the house all day and struggle to build a community.
