    Summary:

    The Danimer Supply Chain Buyer will report to the Supply Chain Purchasing Manager at our Bainbridge Georgia Plant. The Supply Chain Buyer will be responsible for all supply chain purchasing functions including, but not limited to, purchasing of raw materials, components, production supplies, RFQs and cost analysis reporting.

    Essential Functions:

    Physical presence at the worksite during all assigned work shifts.

    Understand Deadlines: Excellent attendance and punctuality are required.

    Understand Goals: Quality and Quantity matter, in that order.

    Protective Equipment Guidelines are to be followed and if neglected will lead to termination. Safety glasses, Safety Shoes, Ear protection, cell phone usage policies, LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) and any other safety requirements must be followed.

    Being a team player, willing to support and help other departments when asked, in activities for which the teammate is trained or will be receiving training.

    Proactive thinker with analytical skills, high emotional intelligence and possesses a well-rounded approach for problem-solving and troubleshooting.

    Ensuring raw materials, components and production supplies are ordered accurately and are delivered on-time to support production schedules.

    Issues request for quotes and evaluates vendors quotations & negotiates price, delivery & service.

    Ensures contract price compliance is maintained.

    Performs cost analysis reporting, controlling inventory costs to ensure budgetary targets are met.

    Creating a flow of purchased materials that meets the day-to-day supply chain needs with zero production delays.

    Improve purchase process by implementing Lean purchase objectives, where possible.

    Develops and implements cost saving measures & conserves organizational resources.

    Provide high level of service to internal customers.

    Troubleshoots & manages supply chain order discrepancies.

    Placing strategical & tactical purchases of raw materials, packaging materials and consumables to ensure uninterrupted supply to the manufacturing process, avoiding overstock.

    Presents data and analyses in organized and concise manner and conducts root-cause analysis when needed.

    Maintaining positive rapport & relationships with suppliers, team members, customers and service providers.

    Following any and all Company rules, policies, and procedures as may be issued or in effect from time to time.

    All other duties as assigned by the Supply Chain Purchasing Manager.

    Requirements:

    Relative College Degree/Certification and/or 5+ years experience in a purchasing role.

    Ability to generate in-depth evaluation/analysis of statistical, commercial, or technical data and measure results.

    Must be a self-starter.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Ability to work through complex issues calmly & systematically.

    Understands difference between low cost & best cost and supply chain procedures.

    Understands principles of purchasing: right quality, quantity, time, source, price, place.

    Understands the importance of process improvement & can work collaboratively with team to improve processes.

    Experience with purchasing and supply chain documents and be able to create upon request in compliance with company requirements, industry standards and compliant with any regulatory agency needed such as:

    Purchase Orders

    Order Acknowledgement

    Excel Worksheets

    Requests For Quotation

    Packing List

    Bills of lading

    Contract Negotiation (Products/Services)

    Demand Planning and Strategic Sourcing Experience

    Some travel may be required for additional training and between Danimer Scientific sites.
