    Summary/Objective The manufacturing manager position is responsible for directing and managing operators as well as other foremen/departments to include inventory, shipping sales, customer service and traffic.

    Oversee and coordinate entire production department including holding area, truck delivery, and combination loads to assure maximum productivity, quality and accuracy of shipment to customers. 2. Responsible for training operators and oversee the training of foremen, assistants, crew leaders, production office personnel and new production hires. 3. Work with office personnel to streamline computer system and paper handling system as it relates to shipping process. 4. Emphasis in developing labor cost reduction system as well as maximizing efficiency. 5. Implementation of a product cost system from a production viewpoint. 6. Manage equipment needs to include tractor-trailers, trucks, rental trucks and farm tractors/wagons, etc.7. Establish/monitor record keeping system to track cost of loads shipped. Establish and work within budget.8. Keep abreast of shipping systems/technology to assure quality of shipped product as well as efficient customer service. 9. Assure supplies/equipment needed by shipping staff is sufficient. 10. Coordinate activities with other shipping points.

    Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

    Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Flexibility is required.

    TravelNo travel is expected for this position.

    Required Education and Experience

    High School Diploma or equivalent.

    10 years of progressive production, scheduling and shipping operations experience.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field.

    15 years of production, scheduling and shipping operations experience.
