    Summary/Objective The Lab Manager will lead the Danimer Scientific analytical team in Bainbridge, GA. The analytical team is responsible for supporting R&D, technical marketing, and process chemistry teams primarily for polymer-based products/technologies.

    The Lab Manager will utilize strong technical expertise and leadership skills to deliver analytical excellence in a broad range of standard and advanced analytical techniques to internal customers. This will include the management of broad non-routine analytical requests, as well as the participation in research and development projects from idea conception through product commercialization, in dynamic and cross-functional teams.

    Mentor, schedule, and discipline lab staff.

    Ensure staff follows industry standard and safety regulations.

    Maintain cGMP work environment.

    Manage reporting, monitoring, timely data entry and resources.

    Review, evaluate, and interpret analytical data, reports, and manuscripts of analytical team.

    Analyze and prioritize assignments within the department to meet the technical needs of internal clients – R&D, technical marketing, and process chemistry.

    Solve analytical challenges by consulting and guiding technical clients.

    Develop and validate new analytical methods.

    Facilitate team meetings, cross-functional communication and decision making.

    Communicate, document, and archive team activities and decisions.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position has responsibility for supervision of the Bainbridge Analytical Lab staff.

    Work Environment

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Must be able to work in a high demand non-climate control manufacturing setting.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Must be willing to work days or nights including weekends, holidays and on-call as needed.

    Required Education and Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry/chemistry or related disciplines

    5 years of experience in a lab/manufacturing environment.

    3 years of experience in a leadership position, preferably in a lab setting.

    A background in chromatography, creating methods and running equipment.

    Excellent analytical skills, with an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way.

    Ability to translate strategy into action; strong influence, negotiation and presentation skills.

    Proven track record of good decision making and exercising sound judgement.

    Result and detail oriented.

    Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.
