    Summary/Purpose

    The Industrial Distillation Technician under general direction of the team leader and overall direction of management, will be responsible for the hands-on execution of all activities in ethanol recovery. Responsible for safely operating ethanol recovery systems in compliance with quality and safety standards. Ensures that work performed is accurate, timely, efficient and compliant with company policies, plant SOP’s, cGMP regulations, TTB, and FDA regulations. Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, safety and/or cycle time. Collaborates effectively with other departments to ensure production goals are met.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Will operate ethanol reclaim equipment and all associated sub-systems

    Will perform routine maintenance checks and preventative maintenance items.

    Practices good safety habits.

    Always wears correct PPE and assigned uniform.

    Punctual – complies with attendance policy.

    Good verbal and written skills

    Teachable: eager to learn and comprehends.

    Team player: constructive, participates, team focus.

    Aptitude to gain knowledge and understanding of area-specific equipment, instrumentation, and lab practices.

    Records data completely and accurately; maintains batch records when appropriate.

    Education and Experience:

    Associates degree or relevant employment experience in a scientific field required.

    1-2 years of laboratory experience preferred.

    Minimum of two years of college required with industrial or science emphasis preferred (e.g., chemistry, biology, engineering, etc.) or relevant lab or plant work experience.

    Prefer understanding of alcohol/fractional distillation process

    Able to operate laboratory equipment proficiently (pH meter, balances and spectrophotometer).

    Proficient in Laboratory documentation.

    Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Proficient in using computers with the Windows operating system including the Microsoft Office Group of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

    Possess a strong work ethic, selfless attitude, and be a self-starter.

    Be willing to assist other teammates as required to meet end goals.

    Be willing to work flexible and long hours if necessary, to achieve the company’s production goals, which may include overtime or weekends with minimal notice.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Must be able to work in a high demand non-climate control manufacturing setting.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Must be willing to work a 12-hour shift, days or nights including weekends, holidays and overtime as required. (2 days/nights on 2 days/nights off 3 days/nights on 3 days/nights off).

    TravelFor training purposes individual must be willing to travel for 1-2 weeks minimum. Expenses paid by Company.
