Position Overview

GLS is seeking a professional Dari Consecutive Interpreter to provide onsite interpretation services in Plymouth, Michigan. The interpreter will support effective communication between English-speaking personnel and Dari-speaking clients in a professional environment.

Work Details

Location: 14200 North Haggerty Road, Plymouth, MI

Type: Onsite only

Schedule: As needed (based on client demand)

Dress Code: Business or business casual

Key Responsibilities

Provide accurate consecutive interpretation (Dari ↔ English) during onsite sessions

Ensure completeness, neutrality, and cultural accuracy of all interpretations

Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and professional standards

Arrive on time and maintain professionalism at all times

Manage communication flow and request clarification when necessary

Minimum Qualifications

Fluency in Dari and English (required)

Proven experience in consecutive interpreting

Strong listening, memory retention, and note-taking skills

Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information professionally

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in medical, legal, or community interpretation

National certifications (e.g., CCHI, NBCMI) or equivalent

Familiarity with industry-specific terminology
