    Since 2007, Dark Heart Nursery (DHN) has specialized in cultivating high quality clones for growers across California. Our years of experience allow us to produce premium clones from both popular and emerging genetic lines that perform well in a variety of settings. In 2019 DHN is expanding into additional facilities to bring on more capacity and to lower the cost of production. DHN has operated a cannabis tissue culture lab since 2014 and is now further developing the plant biotech side of the business into plant pathology, virus eradication, and breeding. It is an exciting time to join the team at DHN as we look to scale the business and dominate the cannabis nursery space.

    Under the direction of  Facility Manager and in alignment with the Company Core Values, Facilities Associate assists in cleaning and maintenance duties required to keep our buildings sanitized and functioning in a PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENT, including, but not limited to, cleaning and restocking designated areas, performing and documenting routine inspection and maintenance activities, carrying out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects, by performing the following duties: (1) Mixing and diluting concentrated products safely and ensuring that guidelines are followed at all times in a compliant manner; (2) keeping an open line of communication with staff and manager by notifying them of repairs needed or other items that need to be addressed; (3) weekly reporting through filemaker to ensure maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner; (4) Proper setup and storage of cleaning equipment; (5) collaborates with and provides support to facilities staff within the production environment; (6) Responsible for the adhere and reporting of safety breaches. Other duties may be assigned as needed or required.    

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Clean and supply designated building areas in Gamma, including break room, sales room, facilities space, restrooms, and nursery.
    • Daily maintenance as needed - facility repairs (light plumbing and electrical), assembling and moving items, other tasks as they arise.
    • Perform daily tasks including, but not limited to, cleaning footbaths, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, gutters, disinfecting surfaces.
    • Weekly and monthly maintenance tasks such as cleaning lights, servicing sumps, greenshield floor application, and vacuuming between benches.
    • Carry out heavy cleaning and special projects such as deep cleaning specific areas and helping to maintain clean plant room.
    • Properly operates and stores any equipment needed for tasks (Dramm sprayer, Zamboni, Air foamer, etc).
    • Careful and proper dilution of concentrated products.
    • Collaborates with and provides support to staff within a production environment.
    • Follows standard operating procedures at all times in a safe and compliant manner.
    • Promptly reports breaches in compliance, safety, and sanitation to management.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily (with or without accommodations). The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.

     EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Proven working experience in a sanitation role
    • Ability to work independently with strong time management
    • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
    • Strong knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
    • Light knowledge of facility maintenance principles and techniques - some plumbing and electrical experience a plus
    • Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery
    • Proven ability to perform a variety of tasks under time constraints and strict deadlines
    • Demonstrated efficiency, productivity, attention to detail, accuracy, and results orientation
    • Remaining in a seated or standing position for extended periods
    • Wearing gloves and other required protective gear for extended periods when required
    • Able to lift up to Fifty (50) pounds at a time
    • Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to colleagues and management
    • Climate controlled conditions conducive to plant life
    • Strong odors from machinery, Pesticides, isopropyl alcohol, or bleach
    • Normal hours of operation Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. (may be subject to change depending on operational needs) 
    • Occasional loud noises from machinery
