Job Title: Data & AI Integration Developer
Position Summary
The State of Ohio is seeking a highly skilled Data & AI Integration Developer for an onsite role supporting the Department of Youth Services (DYS). This role blends database administration, software development, cloud integration, and artificial intelligence. The ideal candidate will support full lifecycle data management—including SQL Server performance, Azure/GCP data pipelines, and integration with AI/ML platforms. This position also involves prompt engineering, test automation, and supporting development teams with high-quality data systems and integrations.
Key Responsibilities
Testing & Quality
Develop unit and integration tests, troubleshoot defects, and maintain high code quality.
DevOps
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and work with Azure for deployment, monitoring, and system stability.
Database Administration
Install, configure, tune, and maintain SQL Server databases.
Implement and test backup and disaster recovery strategies.
Manage database security, access, and compliance.
Develop and optimize T-SQL code, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
AI & Machine Learning
Build integrations with Azure AI, Google Vertex AI, and other ML services.
Create and optimize prompts for generative AI and LLM-based applications.
Prepare structured datasets for ML training and inference.
Automate model pipelines using PowerShell and scripting tools.
Integration & Business Analysis
Design and maintain data pipelines between on-premise systems and Azure/GCP.
Create and maintain documentation on data flows, integrations, and system architecture.
Develop and execute software test plans for data integrations and AI features.
Support .NET development teams (C# primary, exposure to Java/Python a plus).
Required Qualifications
3–5+ years as a SQL Server DBA and/or strong proficiency in C#/.NET.
Strong experience in T-SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
Hands-on PowerShell scripting for automation.
Experience integrating with Azure AI, Google Vertex AI, or other ML platforms.
Demonstrated prompt engineering experience with LLMs.
Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals and data preparation.
Hands-on experience with integrations between on-premise systems and Azure/GCP.
Experience with software testing, data validation, and technical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
Working knowledge of Python or Java.
Experience with SQL Server HA solutions (Always On).
Experience with SSIS or Azure Data Factory.
Cloud certifications (Microsoft/Azure/Google).
Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
