    Job Description (Overview)
Type3 Solutions builds mission-critical fleet management and logistics software for U.S. naval aircraft in support of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. Our work directly contributes to maintaining and improving fleet-wide readiness for national defense.

We work closely with our customers to develop proprietary software and analytics products that solve complex operational challenges.

We are seeking a Data Analyst to develop analytical products for both internal and external stakeholders. This role will work closely with company leadership, customers, subject-matter-experts, and software engineers to develop analytical solutions that inform decisions at the highest levels of Naval Aviation leadership.

The Data Analyst will work across the analytical lifecycle — data discovery, cleaning, transformation, analysis, and visualization — while also improving and maintaining data pipelines and reporting workflows that support our products.

    Why Join Type3?

    • Mission-driven impact supporting U.S. military readiness
    • High ownership over analytical products and technical direction
    • Low bureaucracy and fast-moving environment
    • Modern technology stack
    • AI-forward culture
    • Performance-based bonuses

    What You'll Do

    • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and analytical products that help Fleet stakeholders and commanders understand operational performance and make informed decisions
    • Translate operational questions into effective analytical solutions, selecting the right metrics, visualizations, filters, and drill-down paths
    • Analyze aviation maintenance, supply, logistics, and readiness data to identify trends, anomalies, and relationships
    • Independently investigate unexpected results to determine whether they reflect real conditions or data-quality/system issues
    • Query and analyze large, complex relational datasets; develop reusable SQL queries, views, and data-prep processes
    • Automate recurring SQL, data-prep, and reporting workflows
    • Identify repetitive requests that can become reusable dashboards or reports
    • Partner with product/program leads and aviation SMEs to improve analytical solutions
    • Validate data quality and reconcile inconsistencies across sources
    • Collaborate with software and data engineers to improve data products
    • Develop working knowledge of military aviation maintenance, supply, logistics, and readiness data

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in analytics, data science, engineering, math, CS, operations research, or related field (or equivalent experience)
    • 3+ years in data analysis, BI, or operations analysis (or equivalent demonstrated proficiency)
    • U.S. Citizenship required
    • Strong SQL skills, including independent exploration of unfamiliar/complex schemas
    • Experience joining/analyzing data across multiple large relational tables
    • Strong grasp of relational data concepts (grain, cardinality, relationships, duplicate handling)
    • Ability to build reusable SQL queries/views and troubleshoot inefficient queries
    • Experience building dashboards in Power BI, with strong data-viz judgment
    • Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation)
    • Ability to independently navigate unfamiliar datasets and identify patterns/anomalies
    • Strong critical thinking to distinguish real trends from data/system issues
    • Ability to translate complex data into clear, operationally useful dashboards
    • Strong attention to detail and communication skills across technical/non-technical audiences

    Nice to Have

    • Active U.S. Government security clearance
    • Experience with military aviation, maintenance, fleet readiness, logistics, or supply data
    • Experience supporting DoD or other government customers
    • Experience with Navy/Marine Corps aviation data
    • Experience in commercial aviation, aerospace, or other asset-intensive ops environments
    • Familiarity with DAX and Power BI data modeling
    • Python for data analysis/automation
    • Experience with Azure-hosted databases/data services
    • Experience with CMMC, FedRAMP, or other regulated environments

    Compensation & Benefits

    • 401(k) with 6% match
    • Medical, dental, vision insurance
    • Performance-based bonuses

    Work Environment
Remote (U.S. only); typical hours 8:30am–5pm with flexibility
