Data Coordinator
Status: Full-time, Exempt

Location: San Antonio, TX
Setting: The position requires in-office presence.
About CAST:
The Centers for Applied Science and Technology is a 501(c)3 network of public-partnership schools working with San Antonio area independent school districts. The CAST mission is to reinvent schooling to maximize options for students, while preparing them for the jobs of the future. CAST has 6 schools in four school districts; the nonprofit is governed by a board representing industry and civic leaders. The Student Experience Coordinator is a new position and will join the schools team, made up of the Schools Director and Educator Engagement Manager.
Position Summary:
Cast Schools Network is seeking a data enthusiast to help us manage our data and support efficacy practices. CAST’s Data Coordinator will be the data traffic controller by supporting the organization’s use of data for storytelling, reporting and continuous improvement.
In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the Schools team and our district partners to coordinate the collection, clean up and analysis of program outcomes; the Communication team for storytelling and recruitment support; and the Executive Team for partner and funder data support/analysis as well as overall Organizational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage data requests from school districts to collect academic data related to the organization’s KPIs
- Partner with the team create surveys and feedback tools for students and teachers.
- Coordinate with departments/partners to ensure timely survey completion and accurate data collection.
- Database management with support of Salesforce Manager (consultant).
- Prepare all data reports and support the team in access/literacy of data.
- Develop a tracking system and calendar for all surveys each of the CAST schools and/or districts administers, for data collection and to avoid duplication or over-surveying.
- Ensure all data handling follows privacy policies and governance standards.
- Support data best practices including training new team members during onboarding or as processes evolve.
- Train and mentor contracted or seasonal staff/data interns
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in data Analysis, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field
- Can substitute 4+ years of experience in the field in place of a Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with Salesforce or similar data management software/system
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data cleaning, reporting, and analysis)
- Excellent communication skills & with the ability to interpret and relay data findings
- Analytical thinker who enjoys solving complex problems.
- Self-driven, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Understanding of data as a storytelling with proven data visualization experience.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Salesforce Badge(s)/Certifications a plus
- Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets Certification, preferred
- Proven experience in Design & Project Management
- Big Picture Thinking
- Experience in Public Education, OST or Nonprofit Organizations
