Our Infrastructure team is at the core of this vision, delivering the backend services that power every part of our platform, from real-time product updates to intelligent AI workflows.

We’re looking for a Lead Backend Engineer to join our Infrastructure team and take ownership of building and scaling the backend systems that drive our AI-powered features and shopping experiences.

This is a high-impact, hands-on engineering role where you’ll be directly responsible for owning, building, and evolving the backend infrastructure. You’ll lead the design and delivery of mission-critical systems that support our fast-moving product and data teams, from AI feature enablement to robust brand partnership pipelines.

What You’ll Do

• Architect and implement backend services that power AI-driven shopping features
• Write, test, and maintain high-quality, production-grade code
• Drive fast, reliable, and safe release workflows across backend systems
• Build scalable APIs and pipelines for brand and retail partner integrations
• Enhance system maintainability, reliability, and observability across the stack
• Collaborate with infrastructure, AI, and product teams to align on priorities and technical solutions
• Champion engineering best practices and mentor others through code and design reviews

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, with a track record of leading and owning major systems
• Deep experience with TypeScript (Node.js) and/or Python in production environments
• Proven ability to design and scale distributed systems and APIs
• Strong familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, and release management
• Hands-on mindset with a passion for clean, maintainable, and scalable code
• Bonus: experience supporting AI/ML infrastructure or partner-facing APIs
• Bonus: startup experience and comfort working in high-velocity environments
