Data Scientist – Healthcare Analytics
Elevated Hires is recruiting a Data Scientist to develop predictive models and advanced analytics that improve cardiovascular care, patient outcomes, and cost management. This remote position supports a value-based healthcare platform and works closely with data engineering, product, analytics, and clinical teams.
The ideal candidate combines production-level technical ability with the communication skills to explain complex findings to clinical, business, and executive audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy machine-learning models that identify members at risk for high-cost or acute-care events.
- Create risk-stratification models using healthcare claims, clinical, and EHR data.
- Research healthcare data to identify opportunities for clinical interventions and improved outcomes.
- Analyze total cost of care, utilization, patient attribution, and performance against value-based care benchmarks.
- Implement validation methods to evaluate model accuracy, consistency, fairness, and reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering, analytics, product, and clinical teams to integrate model outputs into applications and business-intelligence reports.
- Translate technical findings into clear recommendations for clinical and business stakeholders.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, and healthcare data-security requirements.
- Contribute to technical strategy within an early-stage, product-focused environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or a related quantitative field.
- At least five years of professional experience in data science or advanced analytics.
- Experience working with payer claims, EHR data, FHIR, HL7, or similar healthcare data formats.
- Expert-level Python or R and SQL skills.
- Demonstrated experience building and deploying production-grade machine-learning models.
- Knowledge of regression, classification, clustering, neural networks, or related modeling methods.
- Experience validating models using complex or incomplete healthcare data.
- Familiarity with HIPAA and HITRUST requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across technical, clinical, and business teams.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
