Position: Data Scientist
Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Pay: $55–$65/hour
Type: Long-Term Contract
We are looking for a highly motivated Data Scientist to join our team supporting Predictive Maintenance (PdM) technologies for combat vehicles. This is a unique opportunity to apply your data expertise in a critical defense-related environment, working with advanced sensor data and machine learning systems.
You will collaborate with engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to drive data-informed decisions that improve vehicle reliability and performance.
Design, develop, and implement predictive models for vehicle component failure using data from multiple onboard systems and sensors.
Perform statistical analysis , hypothesis testing, and data interpretation to identify actionable insights.
Translate business and engineering needs into technical data requirements.
Build and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations to present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to deploy and monitor predictive algorithms in real-world applications.
Continuously refine models and stay updated with the latest industry trends and AI innovations.
Contribute to the advancement of PdM strategies through research and experimentation.
Strong expertise in machine learning , deep learning , and statistical modeling.
Proficiency in Python (including Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn); experience with MATLAB and C/C++ is a plus.
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib).
Skilled in writing complex SQL queries and working with normalized databases.
Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive.
Experience with ML frameworks: TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch.
Knowledge of reliability engineering methods , including FMEA and risk analysis.
Understanding of vehicle communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet).
Strong analytical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to convey complex concepts clearly.
Collaborative team player who thrives in cross-disciplinary environments.
Strong time management and ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar analytical role.
United States Citizenship is a requirement.
