We are looking for an experienced Data Modeler with deep expertise in Teradata and Erwin Data Modeler. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level data models that support analytical, operational, and reporting needs. You will work closely with business analysts, data architects, ETL developers, and database administrators to ensure data integrity, scalability, and high performance across the data ecosystem.
Design, develop, and maintain logical and physical data models for Teradata-based data warehouses and data marts.
Use Erwin Data Modeler to create, update, and manage data models, metadata, and data dictionaries.
Translate business requirements into scalable, high-quality database designs.
Establish and enforce data modeling standards , best practices, and naming conventions.
Partner with data architects and ETL teams to ensure alignment between data models and data integration processes.
Conduct data profiling , data analysis, and impact assessments for model changes.
Optimize data structures for performance, scalability, and maintainability within Teradata environments.
Contribute to data governance and metadata management initiatives.
Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and data quality assessments.
Produce clear documentation and provide support to development and production teams.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
5+ years of data modeling experience in large-scale data warehouse environments.
Strong hands-on experience with Teradata databases and architecture.
Proficiency with Erwin Model Mart.
Solid understanding of normalized and dimensional data modeling techniques.
Experience with ETL concepts , data governance, and metadata management.
Strong SQL skills and familiarity with database performance tuning.
Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation abilities.
Experience with cloud data platforms ( AWS, Azure, GCP ) and their integration with Teradata.
Familiarity with BI/reporting tools such as Tableau , Power BI , or SAP Business Objects.
Exposure to Agile or DevOps methodologies.
