    Overview:

    Our client seeks an Inside Plant and Design Support Engineer to join their Network Services team, responsible for deploying and supporting complex networks.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Global Infrastructure Design:

    \- Design and execute global space and power planning in POP/CLS/ILA facilities.

    \- Engage in system-level facility sizing for utilities, switchgear, UPS/DC power plants, PDUs, mechanical cooling, and LV distribution.

    \- Manage global space, power, cabling, and other inside plant infrastructure to support current and future edge network requirements.

    Proactive Engagement and Planning:

    \- Evaluate data center facilities and recommend corrective actions to meet clients's standard design requirements.

    \- Develop a multi-year proactive plan (2 to 5 years) for space, power, cooling, cabling, and other infrastructure to meet forecasted demands.

    \- Present optimized layout of edge site floorplans, allocating space for network functions, optical, backbone, IP, and compute.

    -Engineering Design and Capacity Management:

    \- Deliver timely engineering design packages related to site infrastructure for sourcing/network investment teams.

    \- Build capacity reports to analyze long-term trends and forecast future growth. Monitor capacity thresholds and initiate proactive builds aligned with edge and backbone deployment forecasts.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    \- BS/BE in Electrical Engineering (MEP-focused PE/CE Engineers highly preferred).

    \- 10+ years of experience in Data Center Planning and Design.

    \- Expertise in reading and analyzing electrical/mechanical single line diagrams.

    \- In-depth technical knowledge of regional data center electrical and cooling configurations, IEC, NEMA standards, AC/DC power, and power redundancy scenarios.

    \- Understanding of engineering principles of infrastructure architecture (space layout, airflow, cooling, etc.).

    \- Knowledge of data center, collocation, and remote hut environments, including power and infrastructure engineering principles.

    \- Experience with optical network design, installation, and maintenance.

    \- Field-based experience in POPs, carrier hotels, data centers, and central office environments.

    \- Basic knowledge of optical theory, transport technologies, and optical transport systems.

    \- Analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.

    \- Hands-on experience with power system equipment, including DC power plants, UPS, PDUs, and MV systems.

    \- Experience in remote communication and task direction with carriers.

    \- Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

    \- Ability to work with limited supervision.

    \- Project management and organizational skills.

    \- Experience in a global team environment.

    \- Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, BIM360, etc.

    Skills Required:

    \- Power Planning/Design (AC/DC)

    \- MEP Engineering (Potentially PEs/CEs)

    \- Design, Planning, Installation, and Operations

    \- Construction and Space Planning, Layout, Site Design

    \- Services Engineering for Space and Power Build-Outs
