  • Responsibilities

    Reporting to Sr. IT Manager, Delivery, the Axillon DataOps Engineer, Manufacturing supports the data engineering functions of Axillon locations by supporting various automation, data integration, and industrial technology initiatives across our manufacturing operations. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop a career working at the intersection of software, operations, and smart manufacturing technologies.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Assist in developing and maintaining Python-based scripts for automating data collection, processing, and system tasks
    • Support integration of IIoT devices, MES systems, and industrial sensors into data platforms
    • Participate in the design of automation workflows that reduce manual work and improve equipment monitoring
    • Help maintain real-time data pipelines that connect SCADA, MES, and other OT systems
    • Troubleshoot connectivity and data integrity issues related to manufacturing systems
    • Document workflows, interfaces, and processes to ensure consistent system knowledge
    • Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and IT team members to support digital transformation projects
    • Other responsibilities as assigned

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree (or final semester) in technical discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Automation, or related field.

    Job Qualifications:

    Required:

    • 3-5 years of relevant experience
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Python for scripting or automation (coursework, internship, or projects)
    • Strong interest in operational technology and digital manufacturing
    • Basic understanding of industrial protocols (Modbus, MQTT, OPC-UA) and device communication
    • Eagerness to learn and support SCADA, MES, and IIoT systems in a manufacturing environment

    Preferred:

    • Exposure to SCADA systems (preferably Ignition) through projects or internships
    • Basic understanding of PLC communication concepts
    • Familiarity with SQL or relational databases
    • Experience with hands-on electronics, instrumentation, or controls (educational or internship)

    Compensation

    Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, including candidate experience, qualifications, location, as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $115K-$120K per yr.
