    A well-established and highly regarded ratings organization is seeking a seasoned Oracle-focused Database Administrator.     This is a full-time, direct-hire position that can be based fully remote, provided the employee resides in one of the pre-approved states: CT, FL, GA, IL, KY, MA, MI, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, TX, VA, or WV.

    The Role You’ll Play

    As part of the Infrastructure & DevOps team, the Database Administrator will play a critical role in managing on-prem and cloud-based database environments across Oracle, SQL Server, and MongoDB platforms. As a DBA on this team, you will be responsible for ensuring continuous availability and optimization of enterprise databases, supporting development teams, and leading improvement and migration initiatives.

    • Manage Oracle RMAN backups and recovery, DataPump, Data Guard, Golden Gate CDC, and advanced database features

    • Perform SQL Server restores, clustering, replication, and Always-On support

    • Clone, create, monitor, and tune databases across environments (Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, PostgreSQL)

    • Execute daily DBA operations including scripting, log checks, system health

    • Serve as escalation point for complex database-related issues

    • Partner with application and development teams to advise and implement best practices

    • Contribute to architecture design, upgrade planning, and migration efforts

    • Stay current with emerging technologies, advising leadership on strategy

       

    Background Profile:

    An experienced database administrator with strong Oracle RAC and OCI knowledge, multi-platform experience, and an aptitude for troubleshooting, scripting, and documentation.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

    • 5+ years as a Database Administrator

      • 4+ years administering Oracle RAC (up to and including 19c) and experience with Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

      • 2+ years of SQL Server DBA experience (on-prem and Azure)

      • 1+ years with MongoDB and PostgreSQL is highly desired

    • Strong shell scripting and Linux OS command skills

    • Working experience with Oracle Data Guard, Golden Gate CDC, SQL Server Availability Groups

    • Familiarity with Oracle command-line tools (oadcli, srvctl, dgmgrl, etc.)

    • Solid PL/SQL and PowerShell scripting experience

    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

    • Proactive and collaborative mindset

    • Strong documentation and communication capabilities

    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Oracle and/or MS SQL Server certifications

  • Compensation
    $100,000-$110,000 per year
