A well-established and highly regarded ratings organization is seeking a seasoned Oracle-focused Database Administrator. This is a full-time, direct-hire position that can be based fully remote, provided the employee resides in one of the pre-approved states: CT, FL, GA, IL, KY, MA, MI, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, TX, VA, or WV.
The Role You’ll Play
As part of the Infrastructure & DevOps team, the Database Administrator will play a critical role in managing on-prem and cloud-based database environments across Oracle, SQL Server, and MongoDB platforms. As a DBA on this team, you will be responsible for ensuring continuous availability and optimization of enterprise databases, supporting development teams, and leading improvement and migration initiatives.
Manage Oracle RMAN backups and recovery, DataPump, Data Guard, Golden Gate CDC, and advanced database features
Perform SQL Server restores, clustering, replication, and Always-On support
Clone, create, monitor, and tune databases across environments (Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, PostgreSQL)
Execute daily DBA operations including scripting, log checks, system health
Serve as escalation point for complex database-related issues
Partner with application and development teams to advise and implement best practices
Contribute to architecture design, upgrade planning, and migration efforts
Stay current with emerging technologies, advising leadership on strategy
Background Profile:
An experienced database administrator with strong Oracle RAC and OCI knowledge, multi-platform experience, and an aptitude for troubleshooting, scripting, and documentation.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
5+ years as a Database Administrator
4+ years administering Oracle RAC (up to and including 19c) and experience with Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
2+ years of SQL Server DBA experience (on-prem and Azure)
1+ years with MongoDB and PostgreSQL is highly desired
Strong shell scripting and Linux OS command skills
Working experience with Oracle Data Guard, Golden Gate CDC, SQL Server Availability Groups
Familiarity with Oracle command-line tools (oadcli, srvctl, dgmgrl, etc.)
Solid PL/SQL and PowerShell scripting experience
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Proactive and collaborative mindset
Strong documentation and communication capabilities
Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
Oracle and/or MS SQL Server certifications
