We are seeking a Database Architect for a contract position.
Position: Database Architect
Position Type: Full-time
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Role Specific Duties/ Role Responsibilities:
Develop system design specifications
Develop and prepare documents for the general design of solutions that meet system and security requirements, including the selection of alternative approaches.
Develop specifications for databases, hardware, network, security, storage requirements.
Develop structured diagrams for the specifications of databases, computer or storage area networks, security or network programs.
Develop, compile, maintain and document configurations of the following:
Databases, servers, computers, security and network monitor systems. BID-DSS-ITS-C-20260729-1
Develop system documentation
Develop operational procedures for migration
Develop guidelines and upgrade techniques of new operational procedures for the support of databases
Develop detailed systems operations designs
Develop End-User Manual
Design and optimize complex database architectural structures to support evolving business requirements.
Ensure high availability and performance tuning for critical workloads.
Implement data integrity and security measures aligned with organizational and regulatory standards.
Establish troubleshooting and rapid resolution of production issues, minimizing downtime and operational risk.
Establish strategic improvements, including data model enhancements and system scalability planning.
Design reports, audit trails/logs, security mechanisms
Plan Collaboration with SQL Group for problem resolution
Occasionally contact customers as may be needed to clarify the intent of a new feature or resolve a problem
Perform Testing/Evaluation Tasks
Tests programs and systems and integrates system modules.
Develop, implement, and monitor information Database quality assurance standards.
Document testing and QA methods
Qualifications:
A minimum of 4 years of experience with the following skill sets:
Strong hands-on experience in MS Access
Strong hands-on experience on VBA
Data structures, data manipulation, databases, design, testing and implementation
Technical and user documentation
Exposure to environments include but are not limited to mainframe, mid-range, personal computers, laptops
