Datacoral, founded in 2016 by some of the “data brains behind the rise of Facebook”, eliminates the complexity and cognitive load of building data infrastructure. In just minutes we deploy a fully-managed stack to collect data from any source, automatically organize that data in any query engine, and leverage that data for insights and publishing.

THE ROLE:

As a FRONTEND ENGINEER you will join a small team focused on Datacoral’s Web UI. You’ll work on projects related to our core application, including expanding our user onboarding and our administrative interfaces. In this role you’ll have the opportunity to work directly with our users (data scientists) to understand key workflows, then use that information to improve UI and tooling to make their lives easier. AT DATACORAL, YOU WILL:

• Be part of the early team making a significant contribution to both product and company
• Work in fullstack Javascript (Node/React/Redux) to build Web Interfaces and tooling for data scientists that will make them more efficient
• Develop a strong understanding of the workflow of our customers, and prioritize the features and data that customers see in our products to support their needs
• Help improve code quality through writing unit tests, automation, and participating in code reviews
• Working with backend engineers to understand our information architecture and help define the RESTful APIs our responsive UIs
• Brainstorm and contribute ideas to our technology, algorithms, and products

AND WE’RE IDEALLY LOOKING FOR:

• At least 5 plus years of experience
• Previous experience with React/Redux and shipping Web UI to production
• A passion for working closely with users and the development of models to collect feedback
• The ability to work in an ambiguous environment where you may need to make decisions from minimal information
• Ownership of the quality of your code, particularly when it was running in production
• A background working in teams with a solid code (and design) review philosophy, where holding each other to an extremely high bar for quality was the norm
• Hands-on knowledge of continuous integration, including participation in the build and release processes
• Bonus points for: Experience with node.JS, fullstack javascript, and/or serverless computing (e.g. AWS Lambda)
