    Job Description

    David Gray – Plumbing / Electrical / Heating & Air has been doing business in Jacksonville since 1983 and is one of the last large-scale residential service businesses in Jacksonville that is still locally owned and operated. Decisions are made, and the money stays, in Jacksonville (not Tampa, Atlanta, or Delaware...). We are a three-trade business (plumbing, HVAC, electrical) that is dedicated to residential service.

    We seek an experienced, proven Operations Manager to join our team! The selected individual will oversee our Sales, Service and Install operations for all three trades. Trade-specific Service Managers, Field Managers, Outside Sales, Inside Sales, and Sales Management are already in place. The Operations Manager would report to the President/Owner, participate as an active member of the Leadership Team, and have complete authority over their team.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

    Build and lead the best home service team in the City with an established administrative team and a local, engaged Owner supporting you.

    SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Direct staff members in sales, service, and installation.
    • Monitor staff performance to ensure that daily revenue goals are met.
    • Show employees how their individual contributions matter to the company’s success.
    • Communicate clearly, show recognition, and build rapport with employees.
    • Monitor employee engagement levels and know how to promote a healthy work environment.
    • Establish customer satisfaction metrics, evaluate performance, and coach staff to success.
    • Build a plan for escalating customer complaints that results in quick, favorable resolutions.
    • Create annual budget, control expenses, and meet or exceed plan.
    • Ensure sufficient staff levels to meet ongoing customer demand and seasonal spikes.
    • Promote enthusiasm and brand loyalty during daily huddles, team meetings and 1:1’s.
    • Shape company culture by living the values of our company, specifically ethics and integrity.

    DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • 5+ years of experience leading a mid-sized home service team.
    • Experience in the residential plumbing, HVAC, and/or electrical service industry is required.
    • Strong business and financial acumen and a deep understanding of business drivers (previous P&L ownership strongly desired).
    • Excellent planning, problem-solving, and process management skills with the ability to multi-task and assimilate new information quickly.
    • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, tactically, and quickly.
    • Possess the ability to inspire both personal and professional growth in our team members.
    • Ability to provide unparalleled customer satisfaction.
    • Ability to drive team performance to achieve all business goals and objectives.
    • Be detail-oriented and a highly organized multi-tasker with good presentation skills.
    • Ability to convey confident and decisive messages in a fast-paced and goal-driven environment.
    • Be proficient using a computer, Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams), and web-based Service Management software.
