Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Patent Administrator to become a part of our growing team! You will join us in our Austin office once COVID restrictions lift (early 2021 anticipated), working remotely until then.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and handle USPTO filings
- Process incoming mail from the USPTO, clients, and foreign associates
- Coordinate with foreign associates regarding international applications
- Docket incoming and outgoing mail using client-required file management systems
- Oversee matters through the patent preparation and prosecution process, from invention disclosure receipt to certificates of correction and everything in between
- Complete IDS syncs for patent families
- Process incoming transfers
- Prepare templates for prosecution responses
- Maintain organized digital files
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-5+ years patent prosecution experience required
- Detail-oriented, highly motivated, and able to multitask while working independently
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, & Excel in particular) and Adobe Acrobat, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and software products
- Ability to communicate in an effective and friendly manner with clients, attorneys, foreign associates, and government offices
- Domestic and Foreign Patent Knowledge
- Familiarity with USPTO systems including PAIR, EFS, and EPAS
- Knowledge of US and PCT patent rules and procedures, and the ability to find applicable rules when new issues arise
