Day Zero Diagnostics (DZD) is an infectious disease diagnostics company using whole genome sequencing and machine learning to combat the rise of antibiotic-resistant infections. Each day we go to work with one goal: to revolutionize infectious disease diagnosis and treatment by providing clinicians with bacterial species ID within 8 hours, without the need for culture. The result of our success would mean faster antibiotic therapy for systemic infections, reducing hospital treatment durations, and cost savings. Primary Responsibilities:

• Pursuing Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in computer science, machine learning, computational biology, bioinformatics, or equiv.
• Fluency in Python; Familiarity with git
• Data science interns: Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or other machine learning frameworks helpful
• Computational biology interns: Familiarity with NGS data analysis, particularly ONT MinION data helpful
• Highly motivated and independent, with the ability to work in a dynamic team environment
• Strong oral and written communications skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
