The Front Desk Daycare Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for parents, children, and visitors at the daycare. This role requires excellent communication skills, a welcoming and inviting demeanor, and the ability to manage some administrative tasks.
Customer Service:
Greet parents, children, and visitors with a friendly and professional attitude
Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and handle inquiries about daycare services, policies, and availability.
Assist parents with the check-in and check-out process for their children.
Provide information and assistance to parents regarding schedules, billing, and daycare events.
Ensuring security protocols are followed, such as signing visitors in and out, and ensuring only authorized individuals pick up children.
Ensuring reception area and lobby are tidy and welcoming for parents and visitors.
Administrative Duties
Maintain accurate records of attendance, enrollment, and emergency contact information.
Schedule tours and appointments for prospective families.
Handle administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and restocking daycare supplies in rooms
Ensure that all visitors sign in and out, and maintain security protocols.
Communication
Relay messages between parents, staff, and management if not able to get in contact with one another.
Distribute newsletters, updates, and announcements to parents.
Coordinate communication with parents in case of emergencies or incidents.
Support Functions:
Help with classroom management when necessary, such as during peak drop-off or pick-up times.
Provide general support to daycare staff as needed.
Support teachers during early parent arrivals.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
One or more years of customer service experience (required)
Previous experience with children or early childhood education setting (preferred)
Previous experience as a receptionist (preferred)
Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service
Strong work ethic and positive attitude
Familiar with computers and scheduling software( Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and daycare management software.
Excellent multi-tasking skills
Dependable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and child abuse registry check.
Health and Safety:Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
