Responsibilities:
Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media, etc.) to teach children
Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, or colors, do crafts, etc.)
Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are always safe.
Track children’s progress and report to parents
Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche.
Provide daily care for young children (including toileting and diaper changing).
Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.
Child Care Teacher Age Groups & Hours:
Oakleaf:
Full-Time Lead 2-yr-old/3-yr-old Teacher: 7:00am - 4:00pm or 8:30am - 4:30pm
Part-Time 2-yr-old/3-yr-old old Closer Teacher: 2:30pm - 6:30pm
San Pablo:
Full-Time Lead or Assistant Older Infant Teacher: 8:30am - 5:30pm
Full-Time Assistant Teacher (Flexible Age Group): shift varies
Part-Time Toddler Closer Teacher: 2:30pm - 6:30pm
Qualifications:
45 hours of DCF training required
High school diploma or equivalent required
CDA or Teaching Credential preferred
1 year of experience in a daycare setting
A passion for early childhood education and helping children grow in positive ways
First Aid and CPR certification
Excellent communication skills
