    Position: Vendor Relationship Specialist

    As the Vendor Relationship Specialist, you will perform a full range of administrative, procurement and office support functions while ensuring the optimal balance between cost and value for goods and services for our facility. You will be responsible for managing the procurement process from sourcing potential suppliers to negotiating contracts and overseeing the timely delivery of goods and services.

    With your expertise in strategic sourcing and procurement, you will play a critical role in supporting our organization's operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

    Responsibilities

    • Create contracts and purchase orders (POs) with order details and specifications entered into the ERP software (Oracle/INFOR).
    • Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers to secure the best terms and prices and ensure that high quality products and services are provided.
    • Assesses supplier's products to ensure they that they comply with required specifications.
    • Negotiate the best terms, best pricing with suppliers and monitor supplier performance to ensure conformity with agreed upon terms.
    • Understand changes to business capital forecasts, project objectives, and translate the impact to procurement activities
    • Initiate the process for obtaining Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) with suppliers as needed.
    • Manage the process of contract terminations, expirations, extensions and renewals.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supplier consolidation.
    • Ensure purchases or services meet and/or exceed contractual obligations and industry standards.
    • Work proficiently with the ERP software (Oracle/INFOR) and other computer applications for effective record retention.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and cross-functional teams.
    • Initiate wire/check requests and review invoices for payment accuracy.
    • Handle credit applications, annual maintenance contracts, and documentation for applicable compliance requirements
    • Review annual maintenance contracts for the facility's machinery and equipment.

    Qualifications Needed

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or Supply Chain.
    • A minimum five (5) years' experience required in strategic sourcing/procurement with capital expenditures
    • Ability to analyze bills of material and drawings to understand key requirements.
    • Exceptional negotiating skills and experience with reviewing, understanding and negotiating contract terms and conditions.
    • Sound practical knowledge of supply chain operations and concepts as well as a familiarity with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of an Enterprise Resource Planning System, preferably Oracle or INFOR.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills in forming and maintaining working relations with vendors and cross functional teams.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in data management and record-keeping.
