GENERAL DESCRIPTION/PRIMARY PURPOSE

Under the direction of the Agriculture Manager, learns to oversee all phases of Dole Hawaii agricultural operations.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION

• Position will entail training in all phases of Dole Hawaii pineapple and diversified agricultural operations including coffee and cacao.
• Trainee will learn to oversee agricultural operations including field maintenance, land preparation, mulching, planting, harvesting, spray application, irrigation and transportation.
• Trainee will learn to supervise product processing, packing and shipping.
• Trainee will develop supervisory skills and acquire State of Hawaii pesticide applicator certification.
• Trainee will become familiar with union contract.
• Performs special projects as assigned.

• Must possess valid driver’s license with clean abstract.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/Horticulture or Natural Sciences
