POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Facilities Manager with input from the Production Manager and Office Manager. This position will be responsible for providing cleaning/housekeeping for the Red Bud facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (LISTED IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
- General cleaning/housekeeping of entire facility including office areas, both upstairs and in the plant, restrooms, and break areas.
- Upkeep of carpeted and hard surface flooring areas.
- Trash disposal for all offices, break areas and restrooms.
- Develop a schedule for heavy cleaning. Some special cleaning may be required prior to special visits by customers, facility “Open House”, etc.
- Maintain proper inventory of necessary cleaning supplies, including items such as paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, etc. This includes keeping all dispensers filled.
- Empty recycling containers into large container outside.
- Regular attendance in accordance with the attendance policy.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- It is imperative the employee understand that they will clean around proprietary and confidential drawings, notes, and documents. This information must not be shared or removed from it’s location.
- Promote a positive working environment and a good attitude.
- Participate in the processes of continuous improvement including efforts to meet company smart goals.
- Work independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects.
- Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a mostly controlled atmosphere. Some exposure to harsh conditions for short periods of time is possible.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear. Physical effort requirements consist of regular lifting, pushing and pulling material weighing 40 pounds frequently, 20 pounds and under constantly. When there is an occasion to move heavy material greater than 50 pounds, the individual will request assistance from another person, or utilize provided lifting equipment. Ability to withstand heights and move up and down ladders and move through crawlspaces. Standing 80%; walking/sitting 20%.
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILL/ ABILITY/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail is required.
- Practical knowledge of cleaning equipment such as vacuums, scrubbers, waxing machines.
