    GROUP DESCRIPTION

     

    Generally, Framatome Fuel Engineering will directly support the reactor core design needs for US Region Light Water Reactor PWR commercial operation. Fuel Engineering will provide the leading support and coordination for reactor core fuel management development, design, licensing, safety analysis and methods development required to support any commercial PWR reactor design. The Codes and Methods Development team performs a full range of Neutronic and Thermal-Hydraulic studies for first-of-a-kind type applications using advanced codes, methods, or unique designs. In addition the team is responsible for creation of new and updates to existing codes and methods.

     

    JOB DESCRIPTION

     

    Main Assignment: A temporary position in FDD-AL that includes working with engineering staff to support engineering studies associated with special contracts for US customers. It also may involve the support of the computer codes and automation tools relating to the performance of engineering work. Assigned Projects: Preparation of documentation supporting engineering studies associated with core design optimization or application of advanced methods. Creation or modification of automation codes supporting engineering calculations.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    ALL CANDIDATES MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY.

     

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering or Computer Science with at least four semesters completed by start of internship/co-op.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

     

    THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS ARE DESIRED AND WILL BE USED TO DIFFERENTIATE ALL CANDIDATES WHO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION.

     

    • Previous internship/co-op experience in field of study
    • Programming skills in FORTRAN, C, Python, and/or C++
    • Familiarity with LINUX
    • Completed Nuclear Engineering courses
