    Job Description

    As an employee of DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS), you will need to have an eye for detail, a high level of critical thinking, and the ability to multi-task, all while using your skills and expertise to uphold our company’s morals and principles, as well as adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

    The perfect applicant is responsible for performing repairs and maintenance of vehicles and equipment under the direction of the Shop Manager. The position requires mechanical repairs, maintaining diesel and gasoline equipment, completing inspections, and preventative maintenance requirements by correcting vehicle deficiencies, maintaining proper records of repairs, and practicing shop safety.

    ** MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:**

    • Prioritizes and works on projects needing immediate attention.
    • Performs basic/complex repairs on agricultural equipment and outdoor power equipment as directed.
    • Determines equipment condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests and identifying worn and damaged parts.
    • Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion.
    • Assists in fabrication of new equipment/new builds as directed.
    • Corrects equipment deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; adjusting and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
    • Verifies equipment performance by conducting test drives, adjusting controls, and systems.
    • Complies with federal and state equipment requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
    • Conducts field visits in case of an emergency or sudden breakdown.
    • Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
    • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
    • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications.
    • Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
    • Keep a clean and safe environment.
    • Carries out all duties in line with Company policies and procedures, as amended from time to time.
    • Performs all other duties, as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    ** EDUCATION:**

    • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
    • A technical educational training in Mechanics is preferred.

    ** EXPERIENCE:**

    • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of clean driving. (Pre-employment MVR background check will be performed.)
    • Must have own reliable transportation.
    • Class B CDL is preferred.
    • Must have at least 3 years of previous Heavy Truck (Gas and Diesel Vehicles) repair experience.
    • Must have at least 3 years of previous Small Engine Repair experience.
    • Must have at least 3 years of experience with ATVs, UTVs, skid steers, mini-excavators, and farm tractors.
    • Must have experience in Welding and Fabrication.
    • Must be good with small hand tools, as well as chainsaws, trimmers, and leaf blowers.
    • Must have previous experience working on sweepers, catch basin trucks, and tractors.
    • Must have your own tools and be proficient in their use of the trade required.
    • Manual dexterity is a must.
