Job Description

D&M is seeking a talented programmer to assist our organization in driving value and increasing efficiency through construction, maintenance, and streamlining of our computing systems and programs. The ideal candidate for this role excels in the areas of computer programming, communication, attention to detail, task management, and problem solving and critical thinking skills. The candidate will work to enhance the value of systems, foster innovative solutions, and design programs that are customized to our organization's needs. The candidate will work closely with the company’s data analytics group, advanced simulation / cluster technology and collaborate with energy industry leaders on high-value analytics and applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with business experts and IT programmers to produce industry leading software designs.
• Formulate program specifications and basic prototypes.
• Transform software designs and specifications into high-functioning code in the appropriate language.
• Integrate individual software solutions with existing systems.
• Support and enhance simulation technical software and Linux Cluster.
• Transition on premise development to cloud development and delivery platforms
• Support and develop enhancements for companywide reporting tool (based on LaTeX).
• Perform upgrades to make software and systems more secure and efficient.
• Create documentation for user support.
• Provide technical support.

CAPABILITIES:

• Proven experience as a programmer.
• Proficiency with technologies such as .NET, C#, HTML, web-based solutions, Microsoft Azure, Spotfire, Python, R, LaTeX, etc.
• Experience in technical computing (including Linux clusters).
• Experience in the Energy Exploration & Production industry is a plus.
• Strong aptitude for math.
• Advanced knowledge of operating systems.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in developing web applications and relational databases.
• Detail-oriented and excellent concentration ability.
• An analytical mindset and critical thinking.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Strong collaboration skills.
• Copes well with workload pressure and deadlines.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Computer Science or related field (5+ years computer programming experience).
• Experience with technical computing (including Linux).
• Experience in oil and gas industry software platforms a plus.
• Some domestic and international travel may be required.
• U.S. work authorization required.
