Independent Living Supervisor
DePaul Community Resources is recruiting for an Independent Living Supervisor – Fulltime –Charlottesville, VA. JOB SUMMARYThe Independent Living Supervisor oversees the daily program operation. This oversight includes the day-by-day responsibility of the Independent Living Staff, including Independent Living Specialist staff and the youth that are served.
TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a human service field is required, as well as four years of experience providing casework services to children and families. A human services field could include social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, psychiatric or vocational rehabilitation or special education. Additional degrees related to a human services field may be considered after a review of the college transcript. The worker is required to participate in ongoing training outside the organization, with a suggested minimum of 20 hours per year.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
The applicant must submit prior to hire a current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) dating back seven years, and possess a driving record that is in compliance with DePaul Personnel Policies. A pre-employment drug screen will be conducted, and if the result is non-negative, the application process will be terminated. The applicant shall not have been convicted of any barrier crime(s) on the criminal background report and the applicant will have no founded disposition of child abuse or neglect as documented by the Child Protective Services background report. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds. Must be able to climb a minimum of 25 steps in order to access all apartments leased for the IL program. Moving and/or arranging furniture and cleaning apartments may be required. Must have and use personal transportation. Work hours may include afternoons, evenings, and weekends, as well as regular business hours. The applicant must be willing to be on-call periodically to provide emergency casework coverage.
