    DePaul Community Resources is seeking a Part-Time Transportation Aide for the Abingdon Office. The schedule will include weekends.

    JOB SUMMARY The Transportation Aide will receive direct supervision from the IL or FC Supervisor, or designee. Frequent contact/communication between Transportation Aide, Foster Care and IL staff is required. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide transportation for youth in foster care and in the Independent Living Apartment program, as needed using an agency vehicle. • Maintain open communication with all Independent Living and Foster Care staff as needed.• Enter client contacts in the electronic software system.• Maintain positive professional relationships with youth, coworkers, referral agencies, and community providers. • Follow program and organization policies and procedures.• Attend staff and team meetings as appropriate and applicable.• Participate in regular supervision to keep immediate supervisor informed of all significant developments with youth participating in the program.• Ensure child safety seat belt laws and car seat installation are adhered to while transporting youth. • Perform other duties as may be assigned.TRAINING, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE Must have a minimum of a high school diploma; Associates Degree preferred and 1-2 years experience in a human services field. A human services field may include social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, psychiatric or vocational rehabilitation, or special education. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS The applicant must submit a driving record with a five (5) year history prior to hire and possess a driving record that complies with DePaul Community Resources Personnel Policies. A non-negative result of the pre-employment drug test will terminate the application process. Must be willing to have a criminal and child protective services background report conducted upon hire. The applicant shall not have been convicted of any barrier crime(s) on the criminal background report. The applicant will have no founded disposition of child abuse or neglect as documented by the Child Protective Services background report. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds and climb a minimum of 25 steps to access all IL apartments. Moving and/or rearranging furniture and cleaning apartments may be required. Must be willing to work holidays, evenings, and weekends, as well as regular business hours as necessary. WORK ENVIRONMENT The Transportation Aide’s work site will be located at the Independent Living apartments or office. Frequent contact with clients and coordination with Independent Living and Foster Care staff, other public and private agencies, community professionals, etc., is required.NOTE This description provides information regarding the essential functions of the designated job and the general nature and level of work associated with the job.
