DePaul Community Resources seeks a Direct Support Professional for Community Living in the ID/DD division for the third shift.When applying, please submit a resume and cover letter.JOB SUMMARYThe Group Home Mentor provides intensive supervision, personal care, daily training, and recreational activities to the residents in the group home. Ensure that all needs of the residents are met and keep the Group Home Manager informed of resident progress and regress. Promote team cohesiveness within the center. TRAINING, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High School or GED required, with work experience assisting intellectually and developmentally disabled individuals.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

The applicant must submit a current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and possess a driving record complying with DePaul Driver Policy. Must be willing to have a criminal and child protective services (CPS) background report conducted upon hire. The applicant shall not have been convicted on any barrier crime(s) on the criminal background report. The applicant will have no founded disposition of child abuse or neglect as documented by the CPS background report. Documentation of a PPD test or chest x-ray indicating the absence of TB required. A non-negative result on the pre-employment drug test will result in termination of the application process or employment. The applicant must be able to transport residents in DePaul or personal vehicle as needed, able to obtain certification in First Aid, CPR, and crisis management of challenging behaviors and administration of medication, and able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. ***Note: Third Shift employees must remain awake and alert throughout their shift.
