    DePaul Community Resources is seeking a Vice President of Marketing & Development.

    The desired candidate should have:

    Proven expertise in executing special events, board member stewardship, strategic plan development, donor cultivation, and executive team leadership. Demonstrated success in supervisory or managerial roles overseeing marketing and development teams, with a comprehensive understanding of marketing budgets and their application in the non-profit sector.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Vice President of Marketing and Development is a member of the Executive Leadership team and leads the agency in marketing, external communications, public relations, community events, and legislative advocacy and grows the organization's capacity through development strategies and home-finding efforts. The Vice President of Marketing and Development leads, guides, and directs all major external engagement areas as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO/President). This person must effectively represent the organization in the community, build relationships, and work collaboratively in all settings.

    SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:

    The Vice President of Marketing and Development supervises the Director of Development, the Director of Marketing, and an Administrative Assistant and reports directly to the CEO/President.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

    PLANNING:

    Lead, guide, delegate, and direct all major areas of marketing: public and media relations, communication, branding, community events, legislative advocacy, and recruitment of foster care and sponsored residential homes

    Lead, guide, and direct all major areas of development: research and prospect identification, cultivation and communication strategies, solicitation strategies, grant writing, donor stewardship, database management, communications and outreach activities, and development-related volunteer relations

    Ensure the organization is represented well, establish and maintain good relationships with our media and communication partners

    Work with division and organization leadership teams to identify specific areas of advocacy, marketing, and development needs

    Provide leadership, supervision, and oversight for marketing and development staff and work collaboratively with all departments on organizational projects

    Develop and adhere to an annual marketing and development budget to ensure proper use of the organization's funds in a cost-effective, sustainable manner

    Serve as an exemplary advocate for DePaul in the community with local leaders, religious organizations, business and corporate partnerships, and other leaders, and build relationships that closely link the community to the organization

    Ensure open communication to create a community, inform and reinforce values and connections, and promote a greater understanding of DePaul's services, standing in the community, and fiscal sustainability

    Ensure effective methods of communication with stakeholders, designing regular, meaningful interactions both in and outside the organization

    Engage external stakeholders, coordinate marketing, fundraising, social media, and signature event projects that support the mission, build brand recognition or community awareness of DePaul, and increase alternate revenue streams while remaining attentive to an assigned budget

    TEAM DEVELOPMENT AND LEADERSHIP:

    Hire, supervise, and ensure professional development (high performance and continuous improvement for all marketing and development staff and develop a commitment to quality, customer service, and teamwork within the marketing and development departments

    OPERATIONS:

    Ensure alignment of strategic and tactical operations within the department and serve as an active and contributing member of the Executive Leadership team

    Ensure accountability to results through regular monitoring and reporting of department data

    Achieve financial objectives by preparing the annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and estimating return on investment or ROI

    Coordinate media and legislative interests in the organization and ensure regular contact with target audiences

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY:

    A bachelor’s degree with five years of demonstrated excellence in supervising and leading in marketing, public and media relations, communications, strategic plan development, special events, fundraising, grant writing, and donor cultivation is required. Experience with board stewardship and creating and managing budgets in the non-profit sector is desirable.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    The work environment characteristics described herein represent those an employee encounters while performing the position's essential functions. The employee regularly works in an office environment and occasionally in the field. Due to the nature of the work, the incumbent may be exposed to situations of a highly emotional nature; incumbents are expected to use verbal skills to resolve interpersonal situations to achieve desired results independently. Work is generally completed regularly during weekdays; however, daily work hours may vary. Completion of job duties outside of normally scheduled hours may be required. Work is subject to frequent interruptions, and noise levels are varied based on the work locations.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    The physical demands described herein are representative of those that an employee in this position must meet, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform the essential functions successfully. Physical activities required are finger dexterity necessary to operate equipment used in the position, effective communication and seeing or hearing verbal cues. Walking from one-third to two-thirds of the time, sitting two-thirds or more of the time, standing from one-third to two-thirds of the time, bending from one-third to two-thirds of the time, stooping rarely, lifting/pushing/pulling no more than ten pounds are required. When accessing various locations, the incumbent must climb stairs and ramps. This position requires driving to various locations approximately five percent of the employee's working time.     SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    After a conditional job offer, the following may be required: a current DMV driving record with results that comply with insurer guidelines; drug and alcohol screening with satisfactory results stipulated by applicable governing, funding, or regulatory agencies; and a criminal and child protective services background report.
