OVERVIEW:

DeSales Media Group, a unique mission-driven Catholic media nonprofit, is looking for a highly organized INSTRUCTIONAL MEDIA SPECIALIST to join our growing organization.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To coach on the integration of instructional technology and digital classroom resources primarily in the K-8 Catholic elementary classroom, but not exclusive of high school and parish religious education. This will include building on the Distance Learning model presently in place
• Methods include, but are not limited to: the design and implementation of PD sessions that train, teach, and assist faculty on use and applications of educational technology, design of support material
• To provide support and instruction to teachers on the proper utilization of DeSales sponsored platforms and devices such as iPads Chromebooks, WiFi networks and Sprint cellular services
• Develop promotions to varied audiences that increase utilization of our services. These include annual contests, seasonal campaigns, model lesson plans, and contributions to web and social media sites
• Contribute to database of contacts and user utilization profiles
• Maintain continued knowledge of upcoming trends in classroom pedagogy specifically as it relates to the integration of technology
• Conduct periodic research and assessments to determine relevancy and effectiveness of present services and to help guide in future planning to support emerging instructional needs and environments

BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

• 7+ years as a classroom teacher with experience integrating technology into lesson plans
• Effective use of vendor-hosted systems, and various instructional technology tools ie, Google Classroom, Apple Classroom
• Knowledge of CCSS, NY State Standards, and ISTE standards
• A practical knowledge of Chrome and iOS devices with the ability to troubleshoot typical classroom applications
• Prior experience training teachers
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of school and Diocesan Administration
• Well-organized, methodical and strong attention to detail
• Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Drivers license and willingness to travel throughout Brooklyn and Queens, personal car preferred - Up to 70% local travel 
• Advanced degree preferred
