    Framatome is an international leader in nuclear energy recognized for its innovative solutions and value-added technologies.  At our Richland facility, we design and manufacture the fuel sent to nuclear power plants providing cleaner, safer and more economical low-carbon energy to US households. In addition, Framatome supports the mission to design fuels to support small modular reactors (SMR) and deliver advanced accident tolerant fuels (ATF).  This position will support the team working on SMR and ATF opportunities.

     

    We are looking for an exceptional Mechanical Designer for our Horn Rapids Road office in Richland, Washington. This is a full-time, office-based position with full benefits. After initial training, optional hybrid schedules are available.

     

     

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 

    • Performs layout and design work from the basic data supplied utilizing theoretical and practical engineering knowledge.
    • Ensures conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures.
    • Consults with engineering staff and technicians to ensure compliance with design specifications and has a working understanding of the engineering design process.
    • May apply advanced techniques in CAD and standard design applications utilizing this equipment.

     

     

    TRAVEL: Occasional/sporadic

    Required Skills Required Experience

    ALL CANDIDATES MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY:

    • High school diploma or equivalent with completed coursework in drafting and CAD, plus a minimum or 6 years of related experience. An A.A. degree may substitute for equivalent years of work experience

    Proficiency with PC-based applications such as MS Office.

    Physical Requirements. The employee must be able to:

    • Remain in a stationary position, walk, kneel and crouch to support equipment walkdowns in an active manufacturing environment.
    • Operate a computer on a continual basis and communicate with various levels of the organization.
    • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

    Experience in manufacturing facilities.

    Familiar with Solidworks, AutoCAD (2018 or newer)

    Consideration also given to experience with Vault PDM system and SolidWorks Routing.
