The REGIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGER plays a key role in leading the area Safety & Health Business Partners in the implementation of the global Safety & Health program and supporting the global Safety and Health function to deliver its initiatives for the organization and promote a positive S&H culture.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Monitor and identify local Safety and Health laws and regulations, that may have a potential impact on our business
- Create strong collaboration with the local stakeholders (i.e. Operations manager/Country manager) to guarantee local legal compliance
- Handle requests and assure support and prioritization in cases of an incident or nationwide crisis.
- Actively participate as a valued contributor in Strategic site reviews
- Provide Report on area HS performance (Safety & Health BP lead, OM, Country mgr, authorities)
- Provides Coaching and training of HS officers within his/her area
- Responsible for providing the necessary Safety & Health support for sites that do not have a safety officer
- Train and apply risk assessments methodology to assess exposure to physical, chemical and biological hazards
- Monitor compliance to policies and laws and ensure that recommended actions are effective (e.g. controls from risk assessments, verification of site self-assessment scores)
- Review level 1 incident investigations
- Support the sites in Level 2 incident investigations to ensure correct identification of controls for the organizational and immediate failed defenses
- Communicate findings and lessons learned from incident investigations to the relevant stakeholders
- Assists site managers and/or HS officers in defining HS capex or opex needs based on compliance and audit results
- Monitor capex spending on HS projects
- Coordinate the roll out of training programs: delivery of training where relevant
- Monitor and report effectiveness of HS training and learning programs (e.g. SSWM, ICAM awareness)
- Provide input to site manager on SG&A to be foreseen for training of Frontline Workers and Safety & Health officers
- Give input to the CoE and Geo BP lead on improvement opportunities
- Provide CoE’s with local legislation information and product knowledge (i.e. input to SDS)

Required Experience
KEY COMPETENCES & SKILLS - TECHNICAL SKILLS
- 4 Year degree occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Health or related discipline
- Knowledgeable of Safety & Health practices at a local legation level preferred
- Project management skills
- Fluent in English
- Analytical thinking
