    Framatome is seeking a Technical Operations Manager I for our Mill Ridge Road facility in Lynchburg, Virginia.

    Stearns Roger Services is a multi-disciplinary group that provides maintenance, upgrade and design support for existing and new equipment at nuclear power facilities throughout the world. Our group specializes in the design and maintenance of fuel handling equipment for both BWR and PWR markets. This is accomplished through the talents of a highly skilled field service technician team and a diverse engineering team comprised of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers. SRS provides field support to US utilities in the preparation, execution and improvement of nuclear fuel movement equipment during refuelling outages. Tasks range from preventative maintenance and support of existing equipment to complete replacement with new systems.

     

     

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    Position requires strong organizational and communication skill. Interface with internal Framatome and external utility customers for project planning and execution activities. The SRS Operations manager is in charge of day to day work control of the SRS operations team, with work activities in Lynchburg MRR and all customer locations.

    As the Operations Manager; responsibilities include actions such as:

    • Direct supervision of SRS Operations team of field technicians • Staffing for Outage Support • Ensuring readiness of personnel and equipment for all projects • Providing Outage Support (either from the Lynchburg Office or at Nuclear sites) to support projects, including resolution of emergent items • Ensure adequacy of outage close-out reports to document health of plant equipment and recommendations for improvements • Support commercial close-out of completed projects • Developing resources in the group, to include oversight of SRS technician training program • Consistent communication with Customers / Developing Customer relationships • Provide support to IB-Sales organization as required for business development • Conduct and deliver annual evaluations for personnel within your responsible work group • Maintain measures for SRS team performance – correct adverse trends and reinforce positive performances

     

     

    TRAVEL: Occasional/sporadic 

    Required Skills Required Experience

    ALL CANDIDATES MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY:

    • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree, plus a minimum of 12-14 years of related technical experience. Framatome LSS Black Belt certification preferred.

     

     

    THE FOLLOWING MAY BE USED TO DIFFERENTIATE CANDIDATES WHO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION:

    • Strong Communication Skills
    • Strong technical aptitude for mechanical and electrical systems
    • Strong Computer Skills (excel, Word, Powerpoint, Framatome WebCAP, Documentum, etc.)
    • Familiar with Outage Support functions (Pre-deploying activities/ training/ staffing/ etc.)
    • Familiar with fuel handling equipment
    • Experience supervising full-time and part-time staff (local and remote)
    • Sales experience (Not required but a plus)
    • Customer interface experience
