  • Responsibilities

    CACIQUE is searching for a DIRECTOR OF SUPPLY CHAIN OPERATIONS AND CO-MANUFACTURING who will collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Quality Assurance, Research & Development, Finance and Operations to drive sourcing solutions for the manufacture and sale of products by Cacique and El Sol Foods. Will lead all aspects of the procurement function related to the timely replenishment of raw materials, packaging, supplies and purchased finished goods for the organization at the appropriate prices. Ensures procurement procedures comply with Company, cross-functional and management objectives for quality, safety, service, and cost while conforming with applicable laws and ethical principles.  The role will focus on development of strategic, long-term supply relationships that actively support Cacique and El Sol growth plans and financial constraints.  Has direct ownership in sourcing and selection of new suppliers and co-manufacturers to support existing and future sales growth targets.

    • Leads the strategic development, implementation and management of Cacique and El Sol supplier and co-manufacturing networks.
    • Sets the strategic direction for the department, as well as conveys and contributes to the tactical execution both at headquarters and the facilities.
    • Builds, grows and fosters strong relationships with preferred and strategic suppliers to drive bottom line financial improvements.
    • Negotiate, documents, enforces and manages supply agreements with suppliers.
    • Routinely identify and evaluate new supply opportunities and supplier capabilities to maintain competitive advantage and supply continuity.
    • Develops and executes a continuous cost-savings pipeline while ensuring the least total cost of ownership, expected quality and service levels from suppliers.
    • Develops, deploys, and manages systems to continuously improve, streamline and automate business processes such as approval of artwork, packaging material design, production planning, materials replenishment, alternate ingredient approval, material traceability and equipment specifications.
    • Executes and manages annual financial planning process for COGS development. Including setting standards, forecasting inflation, and providing monthly impact updates.
    • Assesses, develops, and deploys supply continuity planning processes through risk-based assessments.
    • Maintains protections of Cacique Intellectual Property, trade secrets and brands.
    • Develop and maintain an extensive knowledge of product and packaging categories including market trends, futures markets and related pricing and economic conditions.
    • Contributor and promoter of Cacique culture.

     

    Required Skills

    • BS/BA degree required. MBA desirable.
    • CPSM or C.P.M certification preferred.
    • APICS certification preferred.
    • At least 10 years of experience in strategic procurement, co-manufacturing, sourcing and supply chain.
    • Project management experience in a Food/CPG environment
    • Extensive knowledge of packaging, food ingredients, co-manufacturing and contract management.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent MS Office skills required with strong emphasis on Excel.
    • Knowledge and experience using MS Dynamics 365 or other comparable MRP/ERP systems preferred.
