    MECHANICAL ENGINEER

    Deako is looking for a motivated Mechanical Engineer to help us design new products at our Seattle office. You will be an important member of our project teams, involved in all aspects of the product life-cycle. Mechanical Engineering at Deako gives you the opportunity to have ownership over the design, development, validation and testing of new products from the concept stage to production.     EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • 6+ years of experience designing consumer electronics or related mid/high-volume products
    • 3D Modelling and Drafting experience in SolidWorks, OnShape or equivalent
    • Injection-molded plastics design experience
    • Stamped metal design experience
    • Tolerance Analysis, GD&T, DFM, FMEA experience
    • Experience with product development process from concept to manufacturing
    • A working understanding version control
    • Experience with designing consumer electronics for mass production
    • Experience working with regulatory testing requirements (UL, ASME, etc.)
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field with a strong product development focus

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional team (Product, ID, EE, Reliability & Compliance) to ensure Mechanical designs meet internal and external customer requirements
    • Solve problems systematically and creatively
    • Establish appropriate quality metrics, critical-to-quality characteristics and selection of qualified suppliers
    • Perform onsite NPI functions such as the bring up of tools at our factories. Likely to include travel to East Asia and Mexico
    • Learn and apply safety requirements from UL, ETL and other regulatory agencies
    • Direct on-site NPI functions such as FAI & tool bring-up at factories
