    Debt Negotiation Specialist Onsite - Costa Mesa, CA

    Seeking a highly motivated Debt Negotiation Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing client accounts and negotiating with creditors, collection agencies, and attorney offices to secure reduced settlements on delinquent and charged-off accounts. You will use your negotiation skills and knowledge of settlement guidelines to calculate acceptable offers and ensure proper compliance with departmental and creditor policies

    Responsibilities:

    • Contact originating creditors, collection agencies, and out-of-state attorney offices to negotiate reduced settlements on behalf of clients with delinquent or charged-off accounts.

    • Calculate acceptable settlement percentages based on departmental guidelines and client financial circumstances.

    • Collect, prepare, and submit required documentation for approval and payment of settlements, including managing transmittal and receipt of various e-faxes between clients, creditors, and attorney offices.

    • Verify the accuracy of balances, account numbers, and delinquency details before proceeding with settlements.

    • Ensure all compliance steps are completed, including obtaining client authorization for settlements and uploading settlement letters for documentation purposes.

    • Stay up to date on settlement policies of major creditors to ensure compliance and successful negotiation outcomes.

    • Perform reporting and other tasks as assigned by the direct supervisor to support the department's goals and client outcomes.

    Qualifications:

    • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
    • Experience in debt settlement, collections, or a related field preferred.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
    • Familiarity with creditor settlement policies and guidelines.
    • Proficiency in using office software, including document preparation and e-fax management.
    • Ability to handle sensitive client information with confidentiality and professionalism.

    Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
