    CARRIER MARKETING SPECIALIST

    SUMMARY:

    The Carrier Marketing Specialist (CMS) is a very important role at Decisely – where would we be without you?? Our CMS is responsible for the project managing the renewal and employee benefits enrollment process for clients. The successful CMS will obtain competitive analysis of employee benefit options, providing proactive support to Client Engagement Managers (CEM) in the renewal process and ensuring enrollment files are processed accordingly with carriers/vendor partners. The Carrier Marketing Specialist also works closely with carrier and vendor partners to negotiate quotes for coverage, secure competitive pricing, and rate guarantee terms. The CMS may also assist with new business quoting, as needed as well.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Serves as primary point of relationship/owner for assigned Comprehensive Benefits clients, including Benefits Administration and Annual Enrollment.

    • Partners with CEM on benefits renewal strategy for each client.

    • Obtain the company census.

    • Manage and track quote request responses from the carriers.

    • Obtain spread instructions from CEM to determine proposal components.

    • Assemble Proposal components (executive summary, quote request results, spreadsheets, supporting documentation, etc.).

    • Enters renewal or new business data is entered and completed in TRAX.

    • Assist with gathering insurance master paperwork, when necessary.

    • Submit benefits and system configuration information to Implementation Team for plan builds prior to open enrollment.

    • Prepare all necessary enrollment materials;

    • Attain and maintain industry knowledge of employee benefits, plan designs, legislation and emerging benefit trends.

    • Anticipate issues in benefits quoting process and verifies all information (rates, benefit items, contributions & waiting period).

    • Creates and sends enrollment and deduction files to third parties via data forms, 834/EDI files, enrollment spreadsheets, etc.

    • Assist with auditing of benefits enrollment data to ensure timely processing of adds, terms and changes with insurance carriers.

    • Works with Off-Shore support resources to ensure data integrity, adequate carrier submissions and adherence to carrier connections processes.

    • Identifies and reduces discrepancies arranging for necessary changes/additions including rating and pricing issues.

    • Maps data from one data type to another.

    • Set priorities and manage workflow for self to ensure all goals are met.

    • Interact with others effectively using accurate, clear communication, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidance as needed to achieve the business, profitability and retention goals of the Company.

    • Stay informed regarding industry information, new product/program developments, coverages, legislation, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.

    • Project a professional image in action and appearance.

    • Serve as point-of-contact for carriers and other vendor partners as it pertains to plan marketing and enrollment processing.

    KEY COMPETENCIES:

    • Full knowledge of employee benefit plans including medical (including Medical Essential Coverage plans), dental, vision, life, disability, voluntary worksite plans and services.

    • Display strong financial background and understanding of financial underwriting concepts as well as analytical knowledge related to Employee Benefits.

    • Broad knowledge of Health and Welfare compliance and regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ACA legislation.

    • Advanced knowledge of navigating the Internet as well as various Microsoft Office programs to include but not limited to Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher & Excel as well as all other required systems to maintain and manage job responsibilities.

    • Strong attention to detail and time management abilities.

    • Strong ability to multi-task and assign priority.

    • Ability to work effectively and efficiently both with and without direct supervision.

    • Must have high level of interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, to handle client issues in addition to sensitive and confidential situations regarding your support team.

    • Demonstrated experience with agency management systems, quoting processes, plan designs, and industry operations to effectively manage, maintain, and write assigned clients.

    • Strong analytical skills enabling one to gather data and present it in a clear and understandable method to the receiving audience.

    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands;

    • Position continually requires teamwork, demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.

    • SaaS technology support experience, preferred.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    • At least three (3) years of experience working in highly, visible client service role in a related industry, including insurance, benefits, broker/agency, technology/software applications.

    • College degree preferred. High school diploma with some college required.

    • Process-oriented and ability to work well with others.

    • Benefits administration and/or client management experience preferred.

    • Managing of diverse data sets with ability to compare data and identify data discrepancies.

    • Life and Health License strongly preferred (if not, experience is needed).

    • Valid driver’s license required.
