    Job Summary:

    The Decorative Pastry Specialist is responsible for designing and decorating a variety of cakes and other bakery items to meet customer specifications and store standards. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Decorate cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and other desserts according to custom orders and in-store designs.

    Create high-quality baked goods that are visually appealing and consistently executed.

    Consult with customers to understand custom cake requests, including themes, messages, and dietary needs.

    Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times.

    Ensure product freshness, proper rotation, and compliance with food safety standards.

    Package and label finished products accurately for sale.

    Assist with inventory management by tracking supply levels and reporting needs to the bakery manager.

    Collaborate with bakery team members to meet daily production goals.

    Stay current on decorating trends and suggest new designs or seasonal ideas.

    Support general bakery duties as needed, including baking, restocking, and merchandising displays.

    Qualifications:

    Previous cake decorating experience required; formal training is a plus.

    Strong artistic and creative skills with attention to detail.

    Excellent customer service and communication abilities.

    Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks and orders at once.

    Capable of standing for long periods and lifting up to 30 lbs.

    Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.

    Work Environment:

    Fast-paced bakery and retail setting.

    Frequent use of decorating tools, mixers, ovens, and refrigeration units.

    Exposure to flour, food colorings, and allergens.
