    Deep Apple Therapeutics is a Bay Area biotechnology company with a focus on combining capabilities in molecular docking and structural biology to create a nucleus for accelerated drug discovery through advanced computer aided drug design technologies. Deep Apple Therapeutics is applying a state-of-the-art technology research platform based on advanced computational modeling and large-scale compound docking (LSD), cryo-EM based structural biology, and deep learning to drug discovery.

    About the Position

    As a scientist in the biology team, the candidate will work closely with and under the mentorship of senior members of biology group, supporting new and ongoing programs. Candidate's contribution will be essential for the validation of innovative Deep Apple platform. The candidate will be involved across a variety of projects playing a crucial role in advancing program from early discovery into late discovery. While utilizing existing technical skills, the candidate will have the possibility to expand expertise to new technologies. As an early hire, the candidate will help grow the company, guide its direction, and most importantly influence culture of thinking independently and working on teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop, design, execute and analyze cell functional assays, such as second messenger assays (i.e. HTRF, ELISA, MSD and western blotting) to support compound screening and SAR.
    • Generate and manage recombinant cell lines with gene transfer (transfection/transduction) technology.
    • Manage and supervise compound management across all programs, assist with laboratory operations.
    • Documentation and effective communication of results.

    Required Qualifications and Skills

    • BSc/BA in biochemistry, cell/molecular biology or related discipline with 10+ years professional experience or MS/MA with 5+ years of experience (academic and/or industry).
    • Excellent communication skills, and ability to work in a collaborative, flexible, fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in cell assay development and experience with cell culture. Experience with small molecules is preferred and experience with automation is a plus.
