    ABOUT US

Deep Apple Therapeutics is a Bay Area biotechnology company with a focus on combining capabilities in molecular docking and structural biology to create a nucleus for accelerated drug discovery through advanced computer aided drug design technologies.  Deep Apple Therapeutics is applying a state-of-the-art technology research platform based on advanced computational modeling and large-scale compound docking (LSD), cryo-EM based structural biology, and deep learning to drug discovery.

We are seeking highly motivated and energetic scientists to join a dynamic and well-funded research organization.  We have multiple openings in molecular biology, structural biology, deep learning and in vitro biology.  Deep Apple Therapeutics offers a highly competitive compensation, equity, and benefits package.

    ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and organized laboratory-based research associate to be part of an innovative and collaborative in vitro biology group. This individual will prepare and maintain cultures of recombinant, primary and iPSC-derived cells. They will then perform downstream experiments such as cell-based assays, immunohistochemistry, and/or fluorescent microscopy.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintain tissue culture and generate recombinant cell lines with gene transfer (transfection/transduction) technology Propagate cell lines for screening
    • Execute plate-based assays (luminescence, fluorescence and absorbance based) to determine receptor pharmacology
    • Execute immunocytochemistry and/or live cell-based assays to characterize receptor biology
    • Contribute to scientific discussions, prepare slides to present in team meetings

PREFERRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, OR TECHNICAL PROFICIENCIES

    • BSc/BA in pharmacology, cell biology or related discipline with 2+ years (including academic and industrial) lab experience
    • Proficient in standard techniques of mammalian cell culture. Facility with plate-based assay instrumentation (e.g. PE EnVision, Promega Glomax, Molecular Devices FlexStation 3, and BioTek Microplate washer) and fluorescence microscopy (sample prep and image acquisition)
    • Experience with primary cell and/or iPSC culture highly desired
