  • Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Review customer requirements & specifications, specify and design HPUs and Control Systems for offshore Drilling and / or subsea production system applications;

    Specify and oversee design of hydraulic test and flushing units;

    Prepare P&IDs and wiring diagrams, and direct the design of equipment by designers & drafters;

    Define and manage both internal and external interfaces with customer;

    Review, check and approve drawings and models created by designers;

    Prepare test procedures, operations manuals & maintenance manuals;

    Interface with project team for efficient execution of the projects;

    Provide supervision and oversight of fabrication, assembly and testing operations;

    Provide support to the sales team in creating literature, drawings and models for sales presentations.

    Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Bachelor's degree in mechanical or controls engineering.

    Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the design and engineering of Hydraulic power units and controls systems for offshore drilling and / or subsea production system applications.

    Must have thorough knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC based systems for HPUs and Control Systems & HMIs.

    Must have ability to prepare schematics, P&IDs, and layouts of equipment using AutoCAD and Solidworks.

    Must be able to perform engineering calculations using traditional as well as computer aided methods. MathCAD experience desirable.

    Familiarity with the codes and design specifications used in the offshore industry such as API, ISO, DNV, EEC etc. as applicable to the design of control systems used in offshore drilling and subsea production applications required.

    Must have experience writing design reports, specifications, test procedures, and operations / maintenance manuals.

    Must have previous experience supervising designers and engineers.

    Ability to supervise and oversee the manufacturing, assembly and testing of HPUs and control systems.

    Strong computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office required.
